Back in 2010, I created a custom web site for The Reddix Group. I coded its WordPress theme from scratch to provide a user experience much different from those of other Federal contractors’ sites:
- The unique “one-click” navigation system enables site users to get to any page in the site with a single click, no matter what page they’re on.
- The headlines and subheads, the left-column content, and the right-column example combine to convey information clearly.
- Where the usual contractor’s site includes a lot of “high-tech” language and buzzwords, this site features simple, plain English.
- Where other contractors’ sites tend to use stock photos of random businesspeople, the site I built incorporates beautiful photos that illustrate the main idea of each page.
Much of the text on the live site has changed in the 10+ years since I wrote it, and the theme is a bit outdated in this era of responsive sites, and , but its clean layout and good content organization remain the same.
